Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Connecticut (CT) Special Education Teacher certification (CT SPED)
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Ability to create and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Flexible and collaborative approach to meeting diverse student needs
- Positive attitude and commitment to fostering student success
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute individualized lesson plans to support students with varying abilities
- Provide direct instruction in small-group and inclusive classroom settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
- Promote a structured, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
