Desired Qualifications:
- Valid CT Special Education (SPED) teaching certification
- Experience working with middle school students preferred
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations
- Passion for empowering students to achieve their fullest potential
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and classroom activities
- Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation required for IEP meetings and audits
- Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share progress and strategies for continued learning
- Implement behavioral interventions and support students’ social-emotional needs
