Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid CT Special Education (SPED) teaching certification
  • Experience working with middle school students preferred
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies for diverse learners
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • Ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state and federal regulations
  • Passion for empowering students to achieve their fullest potential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to modify curriculum and classroom activities
  • Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation required for IEP meetings and audits
  • Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and growth
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to share progress and strategies for continued learning
  • Implement behavioral interventions and support students’ social-emotional needs
