Job Description
Step into a rewarding role supporting young learners as a Special Education Teacher for a full school year contract. This opportunity, spanning August 2026 through June 2027, involves working full-time Monday through Friday, for 32.5 to 37.5 hours each week. You’ll play a pivotal role in guiding 1st and 2nd grade students as they develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive in and out of the classroom.
What we’re seeking:
- Certified Special Education Teacher with a passion for early elementary students
- Experience with 1st and 2nd grade caseloads preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Collaborative mindset for working alongside general education teachers, fellow SPED professionals, support staff, and families
- Adaptable approach and effective communication skills
- Organizational skills to manage small-group or individualized instruction
- Familiarity with current best practices in inclusive and resource settings
Your role will include:
- Designing and delivering creative, differentiated lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Implementing and monitoring IEPs, adapting supports as needed
- Collecting and utilizing data to track student progress and inform instruction
- Communicating regularly with families to celebrate successes and address challenges
- Creating a nurturing, inclusive classroom atmosphere
- Contributing insights in team meetings and participating in professional development
