Occupational Therapist School Setting in Portsmouth, NH

A contract occupational therapist is needed to cover a maternity leave from January through approximately May 21, working 37.5 hours per week. This engaging position serves a dynamic preschool caseload of approximately 35 students, with the potential for numbers to shift, as is typical with PreK populations. Gain valuable experience as you rotate across three different sites, fostering strong connections and enriching your expertise in school-based and early childhood occupational therapy.

What we’re seeking:

• Valid Occupational Therapist license
• Previous experience with school-based OT services
• Strong background in OT for preschool or early childhood
• Familiarity with healthcare, home health, and educational settings
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with teachers, families, and support staff
• Organizational skills to manage a fluctuating caseload across multiple sites
• Commitment to providing compassionate, student-focused care

Primary responsibilities include:

• Delivering OT services and interventions tailored to preschool students’ individual needs
• Assessing, developing, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborating with educators and families to monitor progress and adapt strategies
• Maintaining clear, thorough documentation in compliance with school and healthcare standards
• Traveling between three sites as needed
