Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing vital occupational therapy services in a welcoming educational environment located near Wilmington, DE. This role is ideal for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) who is passionate about supporting students’ growth and development.
In this position, you’ll provide compensatory services for students on a one-day-per-week basis, with the commitment continuing until a total of 40 compensatory service hours are fulfilled. You'll have the chance to form meaningful connections with students and collaborate with dedicated educational staff, helping learners reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current state licensure as an OT or COTA
- Experience with school-based occupational therapy strongly preferred
- Familiarity with providing services in educational or home health settings
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working independently while meeting students’ unique needs
- Strong organizational skills to track compensatory service hours
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct occupational therapy or assistant services to students according to prescribed plans
- Coordinate and document compensatory service hours, ensuring compliance with established guidelines
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to implement student goals
- Adjust techniques and approaches based on individual student needs and progress
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress effectively
