Special Education Teacher - Westerville, Ohio

Make a difference in the lives of young learners as an Intervention Specialist working with Kindergarten students. This full-time, contract position is available immediately and runs through May 27, 2027. You’ll play a key role supporting students’ growth and achievement within a collaborative school environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active, valid Ohio certificate/license in Education of the Handicapped K-12 or Intervention Specialist K-12 (Moderate/Intensive or Mild/Moderate)
• Demonstrated experience working with students who have multiple disabilities
• Skilled in small group tutoring, inclusive classroom settings, and resource room instruction
• Familiar with collaborating in diverse school communities and with staff
• Proficient in developing and accessing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction to kindergarten students with diverse learning needs
• Support student progress through resource room instruction, small group interventions, and inclusive classroom teaching models
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers on educational strategies
• Develop, implement, and revise IEPs to meet each child’s unique educational needs
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
• Maintain accurate, compliant documentation
