Special Education Teacher - New Market, MD

Two energetic and compassionate professionals are needed for contract positions serving in a supportive middle school environment and an additional elementary setting. Both assignments are based onsite, offering you the chance to work directly with students and make a lasting impact over the academic year.

You will begin this rewarding journey in mid-August and continue through early June. The first role takes place at Oakdale Middle School, leading the Learning for Life Program from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM with a caseload of 15 students. The second position, located at a site to be determined, serves a self-contained elementary classroom with 10 students from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate expertise and certification specific to their assigned age group. A heart for supporting and advocating for diverse learners is essential.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Active Special Education teaching certificate for relevant age group/grade level
• Experience working in self-contained or specialized programs in school settings
• Excellent communication, adaptability, and collaboration skills
• Full-time availability for onsite work during school hours
• Commitment to fostering student growth in academic, social, and daily life domains

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Create engaging lesson plans tailored to students’ unique needs
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with families, therapists, and school staff
