Special Education Teacher | Brooklyn, New York

This full-time position runs from September 9, 2026, through June 25, 2027, offering 30 hours per week working with preschool-age children in a nurturing, inclusive educational environment. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll provide individualized instruction, collaborate with families and staff, and foster developmental growth in young students preparing for the next stage of their educational journey.

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, with a preference for Pre-Kindergarten experience
• Valid NY State Certification in Special Education (required)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Passion for working with preschool children and supporting their diverse learning needs
• Collaborative approach, with experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and families

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the readiness program
• Deliver tailored instruction to meet the developmental and academic needs of PK-aged children
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate closely with support staff, therapists, and families to ensure effective communication and goal alignment
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
• Maintain detailed records in compliance with New York State and federal guidelines
