Special Education Teacher | Bedford, New Hampshire

Two full-time positions are open for dedicated special education professionals seeking rewarding contract opportunities for the 2026-2027 school year. Work weekdays, 32-37.5 hours per week, August through June, and make a difference for students in 5th and 6th grade.

The available opportunities include:

• A resource room teacher role, overseeing a caseload of approximately 15 students in a grade-level support setting.
• A Life Skills/Intensive Needs teaching position, leading a self-contained classroom with three students requiring individualized, intensive support. Each student in this program is assisted by a paraprofessional, and the class includes students with complex medical needs and/or autism spectrum disorders.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher credentials.
• Experience working with students with varying learning and behavioral needs.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, paraprofessionals, and families.
• Strong understanding of IEP implementation, data collection, and instructional adaptations.
• Previous experience with life skills or medically complex populations (for Life Skills/Intensive Needs role) highly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction aligned with each student’s IEP goals.
• Maintain regular communication with parents, caregivers, and district staff.
• Utilize evidence-based strategies and provide individualized support.
• Manage required documentation, progress reports, and IEP meetings.
