Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily instruction centered on life skills, functional academics, personal independence, and engagement in community-based activities.
• Manage a high school Life Skills or self-contained classroom, ensuring a safe and supportive setting.
• Oversee classroom paraprofessionals, delegating tasks and fostering a collaborative environment.
• Develop, update, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), including functional goals and robust post-secondary transition planning.
• Collaborate with related service providers, families, and district personnel to facilitate comprehensive student support.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active State Special Education Teaching License (High School level required).
• Direct experience running a high school Life Skills program or comparable self-contained classroom (resource room or general case management experience is not sufficient).
• Demonstrated strength in adaptive curriculum design, transition planning, and supporting students’ movement toward post-school success.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain detailed records and leadership as part of a collaborative team.
