Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract assignment as a Special Education Teacher supporting elementary students near Bedford, NH from August 2026 to June 2027. This full-time opportunity spans Monday through Friday, offering 32-37.5 hours per week. As the dedicated special education professional for this school year, you will serve a diverse caseload of approximately 15 students between 2nd and 5th grade, working across two friendly school environments—one grade 2, one grade 5. Your expertise will have a meaningful impact on the academic and social growth of your students.
Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Valid certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher
- Experience working with elementary-aged children
- Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner with general educators, support staff, and families
- Ability to manage multiple student caseloads and adapt to various learning needs
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive classroom climate
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct specialized instruction for assigned students
- Develop, update, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with regular education teachers, support staff, and families to support student progress
- Deliver targeted interventions and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Conduct case management duties, including documentation and progress reporting
- Travel between two nearby school locations as part of the workweek
