Take on a meaningful contract position making a real impact in the lives of students with special needs. Step into a supportive educational environment, providing effective and compassionate instruction as a Special Education Teacher across various age groups. Multiple assignments are available, primarily to cover FMLA leave between September 15, 2026, and December 18, 2026—with the possibility for extension or transition to another opportunity.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Connecticut Special Education Teacher license
  • All required certifications to instruct special education in CT
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs highly valued
  • Strong ability to adapt lessons for varying disability categories and age ranges
  • Effective classroom management and excellent communication skills
  • Flexibility to quickly integrate into different classroom settings and collaborate with school staff

Position Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional support to students according to established IEPs
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to foster inclusive learning
  • Maintain accurate student records and progress notes
  • Modify curriculum and assessments as needed for student accessibility and growth
  • Create a positive, encouraging classroom atmosphere that supports social and academic development
  • Participate in planning meetings, case conferences, and staff development sessions
