Special Education Teacher in Ecorse, MI

Qualifications:

• Current Michigan teaching license with a Special Education endorsement (required—please submit your certification with your application)
• Experience working in self-contained or resource room environments at the middle school level is highly valued
• Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and tracking
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills for effectively partnering with colleagues and families
• Dedication to inclusive practices and student advocacy

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction tailored to meet individual students' learning goals within a resource room setting
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, maintaining thorough documentation
• Foster a nurturing and structured classroom atmosphere where all learners feel welcome and supported
• Collaborate with staff, therapists, and families to create and implement effective interventions and supports
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and ongoing professional development opportunities
