Job Description

Provide specialized pharmacy services as a Travel Pharmacist supporting healthcare operations in a culturally rich, multi-tribal community in Vail, AZ. This 13-week assignment offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable Indian Health Service (IHS) experience across a broad patient population from neonatal to geriatric care, including oncology and obstetrics. The role includes rotational shifts supporting inpatient and outpatient services at a main hospital campus and satellite clinics.

Schedule:

  • 7 days on, 7 days off rotation
  • Workweek: Wednesday through Tuesday
  • Hours: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–9:00 PM; Saturday & Sunday 8:00 AM–7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive pharmacy and medication management services compliant with organizational policies.
  • Provide direct clinical care to diverse patient populations.
  • Participate in rotational shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Advance through pharmacy practice tiers up to Advanced Practice Pharmacist, overseeing specialized clinics and clinical program development.
  • Assume technical and administrative supervision responsibilities, including managing pharmacy operations and staff.
  • Support programs aligned with the mission and values of the service organization.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in any U.S. state or territory (no Arizona license required).
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Registered Pharmacist.
  • Minimum 1 year clinical pharmacist experience.
  • Fingerprinting and background clearance required prior to start.
