Embark on a rewarding contract role as a Special Education Teacher with an impactful high school setting in Connecticut. This in-person opportunity starts September 1 and runs through Thanksgiving, giving you a chance to make a meaningful difference during the fall semester.

In this position, you'll collaborate closely with a dedicated team of educators, supporting students in both academic and personal growth. You’ll teach three co-taught Algebra 1 classes, lead two Academic Labs, and manage cases for students requiring pull-out services. The schedule is Monday through Friday, allowing you to maintain a balanced routine while making a lasting impact every day.

What you’ll bring:

  • Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
  • Experience teaching in a high school setting, preferably with Algebra 1 content
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers and support staff
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment

Your responsibilities:

  • Co-teach Algebra 1 classes, collaborating with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and meet student needs
  • Lead Academic Lab sessions, providing targeted instruction and academic support
  • Serve as case manager for students receiving pull-out services, maintaining records and ensuring all IEP requirements are met
  • Communicate regularly with families and staff to monitor progress and address challenges
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment
