Step into a rewarding high school environment as a Special Education Teacher for an in-person contract opportunity near Bridgeport, CT. This assignment begins September 1 and runs through Thanksgiving, making it an ideal position for those seeking a temporary teaching experience that makes a true impact. Within a collaborative high school setting, you will guide students in three co-taught Algebra 1 classes and lead two Academic Labs, supporting learners with diverse needs and managing cases for those receiving pull-out services.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state of Connecticut
  • Previous experience in a high school environment, particularly with co-teaching models, is highly valued
  • Strong background in Algebra instruction and academic support
  • Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and documentation
  • Effective communication skills and a commitment to fostering positive relationships with students, families, and staff
  • Passion for supporting diverse learners to achieve their potential

Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-teach Algebra 1 classes, collaborating with general education teachers to support all students

  • Provide case management for students qualifying for pull-out special education services, including regular progress monitoring and IEP compliance
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of effective learning strategies
