Special Education Teacher | Derry, New Hampshire

Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher in a thriving, dynamic school community near Derry, NH. Two dedicated educators are needed for the full academic year from August 2026 through June 2027, working Monday through Friday (32–37.5 hours per week). These contract positions provide the chance to shape student growth and success at the 5th and 6th grade levels.

Opportunities include:

• Resource Room Teacher: Manage a caseload of approximately 15 students providing individualized and small group instruction, collaborating with classroom teachers to support inclusion, and maintaining communication with families and service providers.
• Life Skills/Intensive Needs Teacher: Lead a self-contained classroom for three students with complex medical needs and/or autism spectrum disorders. Leverage in-class paraprofessional support, adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning profiles, and cultivate a nurturing, structured environment.

Ideal candidates will bring:

• A valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state (or eligibility to obtain by start date)
• Experience supporting students with learning differences at the elementary or middle school level
• Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and effective differentiation strategies
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, staff, and families
• Adaptability, empathy, and a solution-focused mindset
