Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Intervention Specialist to support kindergarten students. This is a full-time contract position for 37.5 hours per week, starting as soon as possible through May 27, 2027. The ideal candidate is passionate about making a difference in early childhood education and thrives in a collaborative, student-centered environment.

Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction to students, utilizing a variety of teaching models such as resource room settings, small group tutoring, and inclusive classroom support. The Intervention Specialist will play a vital role in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and collaborating effectively with faculty, staff, and families to promote student achievement and well-being.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid, active Ohio certificate/license in Education of the Handicapped K-12 or Intervention Specialist K-12 (with a specialization in Moderate/Intensive or Mild/Moderate).
  • Demonstrated experience working with students who have multiple disabilities.
  • Skilled in adapting instruction for diverse populations and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in accessing, developing, and writing IEPs.
  • Ability to implement resource room, small group, and inclusion instructional models.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Dedication to equity, inclusion, and fostering positive learning environments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to kindergarten students in a variety of educational settings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation for student progress and IEP requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other specialists to create effective educational strategies.
  • Engage with families to ensure continuous support and communication about each student’s growth.
  • Adapt teaching techniques to accommodate students’ unique needs and abilities.
