Special Education Teacher in Middletown, OH

We are seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers to join caring and collaborative classroom environments focused on social communication development.

Two positions are available: one for a full school year at the elementary level (working 8 am-4 pm with an immediate start through May 28th), and one short-term maternity leave assignment beginning in September, lasting approximately six weeks. Both roles offer the chance to work closely with a small group of students—all classified with autism spectrum-related eligibility and most being non-verbal or with limited speech. Classrooms are well-supported, each with two paraprofessionals to help facilitate learning and engagement.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Active Special Education teaching certification
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary-age students with autism or similar communication needs
• Patience, flexibility, and creative instructional approach
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with paraprofessionals
• Ability to manage and support behavioral needs effectively

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to support communication and social skill growth
• Maintain consistent communication with support staff and families
• Cultivate a supportive, safe, and motivating classroom environment
• Collect data and monitor student progress to inform instruction
