A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a dedicated Occupational Therapist seeking to make a meaningful impact in an educational setting near Dearborn Heights, MI. This position will primarily support elementary-aged students, focusing on interventions that foster growth, independence, and engagement in the classroom environment. The assignment is structured for 2 1/2 days per week, with a caseload of approximately 25 students. You’ll work within the school’s elementary schedule, from 8:35 AM to 3:38 PM, providing services that help students thrive academically and socially.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
  • Active OT licensure in Michigan
  • Previous experience providing occupational therapy in school settings is highly valued
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators and family members
  • Ability to assess, develop, and implement individualized therapy plans for a diverse student population

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct therapy services to students with varying needs, primarily at the elementary level
  • Conduct assessments using appropriate tools to determine student strengths and areas of need
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plan (IEP) goals
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a supportive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress and services provided
