Job Description
Make an impact in a dynamic educational setting supporting students from kindergarten through age 26 within a Center-Based Program focused on moderate to severe disabilities. This full-time contract opportunity spans the academic year, offering a chance to collaborate with passionate professionals and help students reach their fullest potential. Working 35 hours each week, you’ll deliver critical physical therapy services and be a valued resource for students, staff, and families.
Qualifications & Experience
- Active Michigan PT license (include screenshot of licensure with application; verify at official site as instructed)
- Previous school-based physical therapy experience
- Expertise in supporting individuals with moderate to severe disabilities
- Commitment to onsite work throughout contract period
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Deliver physical therapy services to students ages K-26 as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Assess students and develop individualized treatment plans targeted to maximize educational participation and functional independence
- Document progress, create detailed reports, and participate in student evaluations/IEP meetings
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to generalize therapy gains across settings
- Adapt and modify environments or materials as needed to support optimal student outcomes
- Contribute to a positive, inclusive school environment and ongoing program development
- Follow all state and district guidelines for compliance and student safety
