Step into an engaging school-based opportunity supporting K-12 students as an Occupational Therapist for a contract assignment near Sterling Heights, MI. Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Michigan
- Previous experience in school settings or with pediatric populations preferred
- Knowledge of IEP process and documentation standards
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess K-12 students to identify needs impacting school performance, including fine motor, sensory, and self-care skills
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans and contribute to IEP team meetings
- Support students’ access to the curriculum through targeted strategies, modifications, and adaptive equipment recommendations
- Document progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and legal standards
- Offer consultation and training for teachers and staff around classroom strategies and accommodations
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment for all learners
