Step into an impactful role supporting student success as a school-based Sign Language Interpreter. This full-time contract opportunity runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027, providing dedicated 1:1 support for a student at an elementary school. You'll work within standard school hours (8:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 40 hours per week), immersed in a collaborative educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 interpreting services for a student throughout the school day, ensuring full communication access
• Collaborate with educational teams, teachers, and school staff to facilitate an inclusive classroom experience
• Support the student’s academic, social, and behavioral development
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards
• Consistently demonstrate reliable attendance and full schedule commitment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current Alabama SLI/Interpreter license or permit (required)
• Recognized interpreting certification such as RID, EIPA, or BEI (preferred)
• Previous school-based interpreting experience (preferred)
• Experience providing 1:1 support to students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, with a proven track record of commitment and reliability
• Ability to work standard school hours and fulfill the assignment’s full duration
