Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by providing in-person special education support for the 2026-27 school year. Two contract opportunities are available for certified Special Education Teachers: one with a dynamic middle school caseload and another focusing on elementary-level learners. Situated in a welcoming community near Barre, VT, these roles offer an excellent chance to foster growth, inclusion, and academic achievement in a supportive school environment.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification meeting current state requirements (required)
  • Experience working with middle or elementary school students in a special education setting
  • Strong skills in individualized instruction, IEP development, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Dedication to building inclusive, respectful classroom communities
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to in-person instruction

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on student assessment data and learning goals
  • Deliver targeted, differentiated instruction and support for students with diverse needs, including behavioral, emotional, and learning disabilities
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related services providers, and families to optimize student success
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as required
