Special Education Teacher in Barre, VT
Job Description
Make an impact supporting students for the 2026-27 school year as a Special Education Teacher in a welcoming, collaborative environment near Barre, VT. Two in-person contract positions are available: one at the middle school level and another at the elementary level. Both positions offer consistent weekly hours and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to student success from August 28, 2026, through June 18, 2027.
Ideal Background & Credentials:
- Holds current state certification and meets all state-required qualifications for Special Education teaching
- Previous experience working as a Special Education Teacher strongly preferred
- Comfortable supporting diverse student needs at the elementary and/or middle school level
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
- Must be available for in-person instruction throughout the contract duration (remote work is not an option)
Day-to-Day Duties:
- Design and deliver individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals, general educators, and families to foster student growth
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction strategies accordingly
- Facilitate inclusive, supportive classrooms for all learners
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold compliance with state and federal guidelines
