Special Education Teacher | Arvada, Colorado

Step into a vital role supporting young adults with special needs as a Transitions Intensive Teacher. This contract position focuses on helping 18 to 21-year-old students develop essential job readiness and independence skills, both in the classroom and the community. Located onsite, you'll work a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week (8 AM to 4 PM), with 35 hours paid and 2.5 hours allotted for unpaid lunches. This opportunity involves direct interaction with a caseload of 12 students at a dedicated transitions center.

Key Qualifications:

• Current or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license required; please submit your active license or COOL with your resume
• At least one year of classroom experience, ideally within special education
• Flexible, collaborative approach as a team player
• Experience or strong interest in teaching life, vocational, and community skills to older students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Guide and mentor students as they gain independence and workplace readiness
• Implement and monitor IEPs and behavior support plans (BSP)
• Conduct ongoing data collection to assess progress
• Participate in classroom and community-based instruction
• Collaborate with colleagues, related service providers, and families to achieve educational goals
