Job Description

This role is ideal for educators passionate about helping students flourish as they prepare for life beyond high school. You’ll be based at a transitions center, working closely with special education students aged 18 to 21, supporting them as they build essential job readiness and life skills.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid (or in-progress) Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education teaching license—active documentation required before interview.
- Minimum of one year of classroom experience working with special education students.
- Proven flexibility and enthusiasm for collaborating within a team-focused environment.
- Comfortable integrating IEP and BSP requirements into daily instruction.
- Strong skills in student assessment, data collection, and IEP development/documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach job readiness and independence skills to a small caseload (12 students), both in the classroom and authentic community settings.
- Design and implement lesson plans tailored to real-world outcomes.
- Develop, update, and execute IEPs (Individualized Education Plans) and BSPs (Behavior Support Plans).
- Track progress through diligent data collection and adjust instruction as necessary.
- Foster a collaborative, encouraging environment that inspires students to reach personal and vocational milestones.
- Serve as a resource for students, families, and colleagues, supporting a holistic approach to transition planning.
Position Details:
- Full-time (37.5 hours weekly, 35 hours paid plus 2.5 hours unpaid lunches), onsite only.
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
- Contract dates begin in August 2026 with opportunity for extension.
