Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting young adults with special needs as a Transitions Intensive Teacher. This full-time role involves guiding students aged 18 to 21 on their journey toward greater independence and work readiness. Working in a structured, supportive environment, you’ll help your caseload of 12 students develop critical life and job skills both in the classroom and out in the community.

This position is based at a specialized transitions center and offers a unique chance to make a meaningful impact in students’ lives through hands-on teaching and active mentorship.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active or in-process Colorado Department of Education (CDE) license (must provide a copy with application).
  • Minimum of one year experience teaching in a classroom setting.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to collaborate within a team.
  • Experience working with students with special needs, particularly those transitioning to adulthood, is highly valued.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction focused on job readiness and independent living.
  • Facilitate learning both within the classroom and through community-based experiences.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs).
  • Conduct regular data collection and reporting to measure student growth.
  • Encourage self-advocacy, vocational exploration, and life skills development in each student.
  • Commit to regular onsite attendance, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 4pm.
