Make an impact as a contract special education teacher at a well-established school community near New Britain, CT. Multiple onsite openings are available to provide essential classroom coverage for family leave absences. With assignments spanning all age groups, this is an excellent opportunity to further your experience and potentially transition into a new, rewarding role within the school or district.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Connecticut Special Education Teacher license
  • Certification(s) required for SPED assignment (per Connecticut state laws and district guidelines)
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs across elementary, middle, or high school levels
  • Flexibility and adaptability to teach a variety of grade levels as needed
  • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills to work effectively with colleagues, students, and families
  • Ability to rapidly acclimate to new classroom settings and implement IEPs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional instruction and classroom support to students in special education settings
  • Maintain continuity of individualized education plans (IEPs) during teacher absences
  • Collaborate closely with school teams and families to promote student growth and positive learning environments
  • Manage classroom routines, accommodations, and modifications per student needs
  • Document progress, complete required paperwork, and uphold compliance standards
  • Potential for extension of assignments or transitions into alternative teaching roles within the district

This contract position offers a dynamic school environment, professional support, and a significant opportunity to make a difference during vital teacher coverage periods. The assignment runs from September 15, 2026 through December 18, 2026, at 35 hours per week, with multiple 2-month leave openings and the possibility for future extensions.
