Resource Room Special Education Teacher job in Center Line, MI

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a resource room setting in Center Line, Michigan. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing individualized instruction, supporting academic growth, and collaborating with school staff to meet the unique needs of each student.

Location: Center Line, MI
Position: Special Education Teacher
Setting: Resource Room
Caseload: Up to 20 students
Schedule: Full-Time, either 8:20am - 3:15pm or 7:20a - 2:33pm

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students in the resource room setting
• Support a caseload of up to 20 students
• Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals
• Adapt and differentiate instruction based on individual student needs
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate educational records
• Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and families
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of student plans
• Establish a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Utilize effective classroom management and behavioral support strategies
• Communicate regularly with the school team regarding student progress and needs

Qualifications

• Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher certification
• Experience working in a resource room or similar special education setting preferred
• Strong instructional and classroom management skills
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learning needs
