Job Description

Support student communication and learning by taking on a full-time contract Speech Language Pathologist position for the 2026-27 school year. This role covers a maternity leave and serves elementary and middle school students in a supportive educational environment near Arlington Heights, IL. The assignment runs onsite only from September 4, 2026, through December 11, 2026, Monday to Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week.

Your expertise will provide direct evaluation, therapy, and consultative services, ensuring students thrive academically and socially. You’ll work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and families to make a meaningful difference during this critical period.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid, active Illinois SLP license (required for consideration)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
  • Demonstrated experience in a school setting, ideally with elementary and/or middle school populations
  • Strong ability to tailor communication strategies for diverse student needs
  • Excellent collaboration and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy to assigned students
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized goals and interventions
  • Collaborate with educational teams and participate in IEP meetings as needed
  • Accurately maintain student records and communication logs per district guidelines
  • Consult with families and staff to best support each student’s success
