Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Speech Language Pathologist supporting elementary and middle school students on a high-functioning, collaborative team. This position covers a maternity leave for the 2026-2027 school year, running from September 4, 2026, to December 11, 2026. You'll work full-time, Monday to Friday, with a robust 37.5-hour schedule each week.
Your expertise will help students reach their communication goals as you work onsite within a dynamic educational setting just north of Chicago. The ideal candidate brings experience in a school environment and holds the necessary certifications, including an active Illinois SLP license and the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
- Current, active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP-CCC)
- Previous experience in school-based settings, working with elementary and/or middle school students
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapy practices and IEP development
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with education staff and families
- Commitment to onsite attendance; remote or Voco employment cannot be accommodated
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct speech and language services to a diverse caseload of students in elementary and middle school
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized therapy programs
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEPs
- Maintain thorough records and progress documentation
- Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
