Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to an engaging educational environment for the 2026-2027 school year. This onsite contract opportunity plays a vital role in fostering communication and access for a high school student, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the benefits of a part-time schedule. Work two days per week (Monday and Friday preferred, though some flexibility exists) within a well-supported academic program. The position centers on offering one-on-one interpretive support during regular academic classes, ensuring the student’s full inclusion and participation in daily high school life.

Key Qualifications:

  • EIPA score of 3.5 or higher (required—please submit validation with resume)
  • Recent Pennsylvania onboarding (completed within one year of start date)
  • Comprehensive skills in sign language interpretation, with experience supporting K-12 academic settings preferred
  • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and school staff

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, one-on-one interpretation for a high school student throughout all scheduled classes and activities
  • Help the student access both instruction and peer interactions, enhancing their educational and social experience
  • Work closely with educational staff to plan for upcoming lessons and ensure interpreting needs are met
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to various academic subjects and student preferences
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with school and district standards
