Step into a rewarding and impactful role shaping the success of young learners as a Special Education Teacher in a supportive elementary environment. This full-time, contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year, from late August through mid-June, giving you the chance to dedicate your expertise to a vibrant learning community.

Leverage your skills as part of the LRC1 program, providing essential instruction and support for students at the elementary level. In this position, you’ll have the stability of a 37.5-hour workweek and the engaging opportunity to foster meaningful student growth throughout the academic year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Special Education (SPED) License and Certification
  • Willingness to obtain (or possession of) fingerprint clearance through OSPI
  • Experience or affinity for working with elementary school students in a resource or specialized classroom setting
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management abilities
  • Commitment to individualized instruction and fostering inclusive educational practices

Responsibilities Include:

  • Delivering targeted special education instruction for your assigned caseload in the LRC1 program
  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Coordinating with general education staff, support personnel, and families
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress
  • Providing a nurturing, structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement and confidence
