Special Education Teacher - Statesville, NC

Step into a pivotal role supporting students with diverse learning needs during the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity focuses on serving middle and high school students with exceptionalities, including those with autism, requiring adapted curriculums or resource/inclusion support. Full-time hours are available, with the schedule set for Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Adapted Curriculum (Special Education) teaching license for North Carolina
• Previous experience working with middle and/or high school students with significant disabilities or autism
• Understanding of extended content standards and adapted curriculum instruction
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Strong organizational and collaboration skills to partner with staff, therapists, and families

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instructional strategies and curricula to a caseload of 15-18 students, focusing on high-need learners
• Effectively manage classroom environments, including resource, inclusion, and adapted settings
• Create, monitor, and revise IEPs while advocating for each student’s unique needs
• Collect and analyze progress data to ensure student growth and instructional effectiveness
• Foster positive, supportive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
