Special Education Teacher - Huntersville, NC

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teaching certification (required)
• Demonstrated experience as a resource/inclusion or self-contained classroom teacher
• Skilled in instructing and supporting students with significant Autism
• Familiarity and hands-on experience using ECATS (Exceptional Children Accountability Tracking System)
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
• Ability to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt curriculum materials

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized lessons tailored to students’ academic and functional needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and support staff to ensure inclusive educational practices
• Use ECATS effectively to monitor student progress, maintain compliance, and document interventions
• Foster a safe, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
• Provide direct support to students in both resource/inclusion and self-contained settings as assigned
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to educational planning, and maintain open communication with parents and guardians
• Employ evidence-based strategies for managing classroom behaviors and promoting social-emotional growth
