Occupational Therapist School Setting - Warren, MI

Make a meaningful difference in students' lives by providing essential occupational therapy services on a flexible, part-time basis. This contract opportunity is perfect for a skilled Occupational Therapist passionate about supporting young learners’ growth and independence. You'll work closely with students, educators, and families to deliver individualized therapy, mainly at the elementary level, ensuring students receive the support they need to succeed.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• Active state license (or eligibility)
• Experience within school settings, ideally with an elementary caseload
• Strong understanding of IEP process and documentation requirements
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassion, adaptability, and a commitment to inclusive practices

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to a caseload of approximately 25 students, primarily at the elementary level
• Develop and implement treatment plans aligned with students’ IEPs and educational goals
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and support staff to integrate therapy strategies into classroom activities
• Assess, document, and report on student progress; adjust interventions as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations
• Support the district as needed, with a focus on Thorne Elementary
• Schedule: 2.5 days per week, during school hours (8:35 AM – 3:38 PM)
