Occupational Therapist School Setting in Dearborn Heights, MI

This contract opportunity involves working 2 ½ days per week, primarily serving elementary-aged students, with a manageable caseload of approximately 25 students. You’ll collaborate with educators to foster student growth and help children of varying abilities thrive within a school environment.

Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Fully licensed Occupational Therapist with credentials to practice in Michigan
• Experience in pediatric or school-based occupational therapy preferred
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Comfort collaborating with teaching staff, families, and other specialists
• Ability to adapt interventions to meet diverse student needs
• Dedication to fostering student independence and participation in school activities

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative OT services to students in alignment with their IEP goals
• Conduct assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans targeting fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, and classroom participation
• Document student progress, maintain compliance with state requirements, and contribute to IEP meetings as the OT expert
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to support inclusive practices and appropriate accommodations
• Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers about student growth and strategies for classroom and home success
