Step into a meaningful contract role shaping the educational journey for students with exceptional needs. This opportunity is perfect for Special Education Teachers passionate about working with middle and high school students in a dynamic school environment supporting scholars with high-level autism or requiring tailored curriculum pathways.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and valid Special Education licensure; specifically, Adapted Curriculum licensure for certain placements
  • Experience teaching students on the autism spectrum and expertise with extended content standards, or in inclusive/resource settings
  • Strong classroom management and adaptability with varied learning needs and behavioral profiles
  • A collaborative communication style, ready to partner with other specialists, teachers, and families
  • Ability to maintain thorough documentation, comply with IEP requirements, and implement evidence-based instructional strategies

Role Overview and Responsibilities:

  • Teach and support a caseload of 15–18 middle and high school students, depending on assignment location within the district
  • Deliver differentiated instruction aligned to individual education plans (IEPs) Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm, up to 40 hours weekly
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and general educators to design and deliver instruction in resource, inclusion, or extended content classrooms
  • Foster social, emotional, and academic growth through positive reinforcement and customized accommodations
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to goal setting, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
