Special Education Teacher - Matthews, North Carolina

Qualifications:

• Current Special Education Teacher certification (required)
• Hands-on experience with ECATS for progress monitoring and documentation
• Background in resource or inclusion settings, OR experience in self-contained classrooms supporting students with significant Autism
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and differentiated instruction
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with interdisciplinary teams, students, and families
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet unique student needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and individualized support to students in EC resource/inclusion or self-contained classrooms
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans based on IEP goals and student strengths
• Utilize ECATS for tracking student progress and maintaining accurate records
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, families, and support staff
• Participate in IEP meetings, provide recommendations, and contribute to team decision-making
• Employ positive behavioral supports and appropriate classroom management techniques
