Job Description

This contract opportunity supports students with unique learning needs and offers the chance to collaborate with dedicated education professionals. Two positions are available to work at a site conveniently located near Sylva, NC and just next to Asheville, in Waynesville.
What we’re looking for:
- Certified Special Education Teacher, or eligibility for appropriate licensure
- Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
- Solid understanding of IEPs, behavior intervention strategies, and adaptation of curriculum
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
- Ability to foster an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Strong organizational and collaboration skills
Your key responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students in accordance with IEP goals
- Develop lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related support staff
- Collect and maintain ongoing data on student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the planning process
- Build positive relationships with students to encourage their growth and confidence
