Step into a fulfilling role supporting students as an in-person Special Education Teacher for a well-respected school community near Northfield, VT. Two contract opportunities are available for the 2026-2027 academic year: one at a middle school and another at an elementary school. Both positions offer you the opportunity to make a significant impact on students’ progress and well-being from August 28, 2026, through June 18, 2027. Enjoy a predictable schedule of 37.5 hours per week, working closely with school teams and families to deliver individualized educational support.

Key Qualifications:

  • Hold an active State of Vermont Special Education Teacher certification (required).
  • Experience working with elementary or middle school students in special education settings preferred.
  • Strong skills in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Passion for advocating for students with diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to providing instruction exclusively in person.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to support students’ unique learning needs.
  • Deliver direct instructional support and differentiation in a classroom setting.
  • Collaborate regularly with general education and related service staff to foster inclusive learning environments.
  • Monitor student progress and collect data to drive instructional changes.
  • Communicate frequently with families regarding student goals, progress, and resources.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with state and district guidelines.
