Special Education Teacher in Northfield, VT

Both roles are offered as full-time contracts, working 37.5 hours per week from late August 2026 through mid-June 2027.

What you'll bring:

• Current special education credentials meeting all state-mandated requirements
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in teaching students with diverse learning needs
• Ability to deliver instruction and support in-person, as these positions require onsite presence
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school teams
• Flexibility to adapt instruction to meet a variety of learning styles and needs

What you’ll do:

• Provide compliant, individualized instruction based on IEPs for elementary or middle school students
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and administrators to develop and implement lesson plans
• Regularly monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed to foster academic and behavioral growth
• Maintain accurate records, complete all required documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
