Special Education Teacher - Northfield, VT

What we’re looking for:

• Valid state certification or licensure to teach Special Education (meeting all Vermont requirements)
• Demonstrated success in Special Education settings, specifically with middle or elementary school-aged students
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with staff, families, and support networks
• Ability to develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Classroom management expertise and an approachable, patient demeanor
• Availability for full-time in-person work throughout the entire academic year (August 28, 2026 – June 18, 2027)
• Commitment to fostering an engaging, empowering, and supportive classroom environment

Primary responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized instruction to students based on IEPs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and outside providers
• Perform assessments, monitor progress, and adjust strategies for student growth
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation and compliance with all district/state requirements
• Engage with families and guardians to support positive student outcomes
• Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners
