Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with significant communication needs in a collaborative school environment near New Britain, CT. Two openings are available for experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) who are energized by working with diverse pediatric populations and thrive in specialized programs. Positions span August 26 through June 8, with daily hours from 8:45 am to 3:35 pm.

In these roles, you will primarily serve K-5th graders in self-contained classrooms, focusing on students with moderate to profound language disorders, including those with ASD or significant language delays. Opportunities to supervise Clinical Fellows (CFs) and SLPAs are available, offering a chance to lead while you serve. AAC expertise is highly valued—most students use Proloquo2Go, LAMP, or Touch Chat devices to support their communication. Your scheduling may include a preschool site for a portion of the week (serving ages 3-5), providing a reduced caseload and a variety of clinical experiences.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Hold or eligible for SLP-CCC, SLP-CFY, or SLPA credentials
  • Experience or strong interest in K-5 or preschool populations with complex communication needs
  • Knowledge of AAC systems (especially Proloquo2Go, LAMP, or Touch Chat)
  • Previous school or healthcare-based SLP/SLPA experience
  • Ability and willingness to supervise CFs or SLPAs
  • Competency in conducting evaluations (including triennials), progress reporting, participating in IEP meetings, and completing Medicaid billing

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct speech-language therapy in individual and group settings
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations and triennials
  • Develop and update IEPs, attend meetings, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and billing documentation (including SOAP notes)
  • Provide supervision to assigned CFs or SLPAs

Enjoy comprehensive benefits, a matching 401k, and competitive weekly pay delivered every Friday. If you’re ready to make a daily difference for children on their communication journey and grow within a supportive, innovative environment, submit your application today. Your expertise will be truly valued!

Compensation for this position ranges from $45.92 to $65.92. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
