Job Description

Step into a vital support role for students as a school psychologist, working on a contract basis in a dynamic, collaborative environment near Chicago, IL. This position offers the opportunity to focus on high-impact evaluations rather than daily student management, allowing you to leverage your expertise across multiple age groups from Pre-K through 8th grade. You’ll be based at the district office and play an integral part in ensuring comprehensive developmental and transitional support for students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and School Psychologist endorsement (pending applications considered for travel professionals)
  • Experience facilitating domain meetings, performing evaluations, and contributing to EI transition processes
  • In-depth understanding of multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) and associated referral processes
  • Ability to work efficiently with a moderate annual evaluation caseload (approximately 63 completed last year)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Commitment to collaborative practice within a district-based team

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and manage all student evaluations, including overseeing the transition process from Early Intervention (completed 17 TPBA evaluations last year)
  • Run eligibility domain meetings and participate in targeted MTSS meetings on a referral basis
  • Maintain thorough records and timely completion of documentation
  • Serve as a key liaison between the district office and various schools within the district

This contract runs until mid-June 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM. As part of the district office team, you will impact student trajectories without direct daily involvement in school-site operations.

If you’re ready to specialize in a focused, district-level psych role and help shape students' educational journeys, we invite you to apply today!

Compensation for this position ranges from $39.92 to $69.92. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
