Step into a contract opportunity focused on impactful evaluation services across pre-K through 8th grade students in a supportive district near Chicago, IL. This specialized school psychology role is based at the district office, offering a unique experience distinct from typical in-building positions.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and School Psychologist license (pending accepted for traveling professionals)
  • Experience in school-based psychological evaluations and eligibility processes
  • Confident running domain meetings and managing multiple priorities
  • Familiarity with early intervention (EI) transition processes is valuable
  • Excellent collaborative, communication, and organizational skills
  • Previous MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) involvement preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychoeducational evaluations for students pre-K to 8th grade (approx. 63 last year)
  • Lead and facilitate domain meetings for initial and re-eval processes
  • Oversee the Early Intervention transition process and participate in TPBA (17 transitions last year)
  • Attend MTSS referral meetings as needed to support student success
  • Maintain communication and compliance in all evaluation-related documentation
  • Serve as a district-wide evaluation specialist, rather than a daily, building-based support

Position Details:

  • Contract-based role housed at the district office
  • Typical schedule: 7:45 AM to 3:30 PM, allowing for work-life balance
  • Start date is as soon as possible; contracted through June 19th, 2027
  • Average caseload focuses solely on evaluations—no daily crisis response or counseling
