Job Description

Job Description

Bring your expertise as a School Psychologist to a contract opportunity supporting students from Pre-K through 8th grade. This position is based at a district office, where the focus is on in-depth evaluation work and helping guide important transitions for students. If you’re seeking a specialized role where you can make a significant impact without the day-to-day demands of a typical building assignment, this may be an excellent fit.

Qualifications and Experience Sought:

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) and School Psychologist license (pending considered for traveling professionals)
  • Experience conducting student evaluations in a school setting
  • Familiarity with the evaluation process for special education eligibility
  • Strong skills in leading domain meetings
  • Ability to oversee the Early Intervention (EI) transition process, including Transdisciplinary Play-Based Assessment (TPBA)
  • Comfortable attending meetings for Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) referrals as needed

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run domain meetings and manage the evaluation cycle
  • Lead and participate in meetings for individual student referrals under the MTSS framework
  • Oversee the EI transition process for students (approximately 17 annually), including completing TPBA
  • Complete formal assessments—last year, the team conducted about 63 evaluations
  • Collaborate professionally with district staff, while based at the central district office

Additional Details:

  • Contract position, starting as soon as possible and running through June 19th, 2027
  • Scheduled hours are 7:45 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday
  • CPI training is typically not required for this role, as it isn’t housed in an individual school building

Step into a rewarding assignment where your evaluative and consultative skills are valued. If you hold the required licensure and are ready to help shape student outcomes, submit your application today!

Compensation for this position ranges from $40.00 to $60.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
