Step into a key district-level role supporting students from Pre-K through 8th grade as a contracted school psychologist near Chicago, IL. This exciting opportunity centers on conducting evaluations—last year’s total reached 63—and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate student success across the district. The assignment is based at the district office, meaning your focus remains on specialized assessment and evaluation processes rather than daily student or staff concerns typical in building-based roles.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois PEL and School Psychologist license (pending licensure considered for travel professionals)
  • Experience with educational evaluations for a variety of developmental stages, Pre-K through 8th grade
  • Strong skills in administering, scoring, and interpreting a range of assessments
  • Skilled in facilitating and leading domain meetings
  • Familiarity with the Early Intervention (EI) transition process, including Two-Part Behavioral Assessments (TPBA)
  • Comfortable participating in Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) referral meetings
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities

Core Duties:

  • Run domain meetings for student evaluations
  • Complete timely and thorough psychoeducational assessments
  • Oversee the EI transition process (approximately 17 transitions last year)
  • Lead TPBA as part of EI responsibilities
  • Collaborate in MTSS referral meetings as needed
  • Maintain clear documentation and reporting
  • Primarily function from the district office and contribute to district-level student support

Details:

  • Contract assignment; hours are 7:45 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Start ASAP through June 19, 2027
  • CPI training not required for this district-level position
