Staff Pharmacist in Arlington Heights, IL

A pharmacy professional role is available to support warehouse operations at a healthcare facility in Arlington Heights, IL. This contract position spans six months with a Monday through Friday schedule from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Responsibilities include overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of all medications, including refrigerated and specialty items. The role requires managing inventory levels effectively by ordering medications and supplies while minimizing waste and expired products. Ensuring compliance with USP standards and state/federal regulations for proper storage conditions is critical.

Additional duties involve verifying medication orders prior to preparation or shipment, supervising pharmacy technicians responsible for inventory handling and shipping, and coordinating with sterile compounding teams to maintain essential supplies for patient orders. The pharmacist will review controlled substance inventories, maintain related documentation, and perform cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and quality assurance audits. Collaborating with purchasing, nursing, and operations teams will help guarantee timely medication delivery. Use of pharmacy software and inventory management systems is essential for tracking medications and supplies.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Current and active Illinois Pharmacist License
• Knowledge of intravenous (IV) medications
• Experience with inventory management and medication compliance standards
• Supervisory skills for overseeing pharmacy technicians
• Familiarity with pharmacy software and inventory systems
